School of Cool Easter Fun!
If you are looking to do a little ‘learning in disguise’ over Easter, then look no further! Here at Magical Story Jars School of Cool we have put together a fun Easter themed character design activity along with an accompanying activity sheet and some top character design tips (as seen below). But my kids are different ages, how do I make this activity suit everyone? Fear not! There are lots of simple ways this activity can be tailored to suit a broad age range. If they are tiny story makers then you could read the scenario on the activity sheet out to them, explain what a character is (give an example using their favourite story book) and together and talk about ideas for the new superhero character. They could then draw and colour in the character whilst you have five minutes in peace (!) then you could help them write an interesting fact about their newly created character. Once they have designed their Easter superhero, they might like to have fun role playing their character!
If you have older story makers you could ask them to read the tips we have provided and then get them to think about how they can incorporate their chosen describing words (listed on the activity sheet) into their character. An Easter superhero that has in built features that enables them to solve the story conundrum is going to be key to creating the perfect character. For example, will their superhero have the power to time travel in order to get all the eggs delivered on time? Will they have the ability to fly? Perhaps they have super powered taste buds to help them create the tastiest Easter eggs ever made.
Once the new character is created, they could then go on to write a story using the scenario we have provided as a starting point.
