Bed Set Go

‘Bed Set Go’ was written and illustrated by seven-year-old Vedantika using story cards from the Adventure themed Magical Story Jars.  If you and the kids are looking for a story packed with action, adventure and fun, this one is just the ticket!        

If you think being large means being brave, then you definitely haven't met Luca.  Luca was a stegosaurus, and he was afraid of almost everything.

‘What if anyone got hurt?’  ‘What if the sun drops down on my head?’  ‘What if I am lost?’

And one summer morning, Luca was really lost.  On their way back from the far away drinking lake, Luca became so worried about the flying butterflies around him, he didn't notice that he took a different route than his dino family.  When he finally noticed, he couldn't spot his parents anymore. 

Luka panicked.  He looked around.  On his behind, there was a big forest and in front of him, there stood a strange large yellow building with a shallow river blocking it.  Luca hopped on a floating log and before he could lose balance, he jumped to the other side.

Being last was not easy.  When Luca was huffing and puffing on the grass, he felt ticklish on his tail.  He looked over his shoulder.  There was nothing.  He felt ticklish again and heard a giggle.  But still, he couldn't see anything.  When panic was settling again, a chameleon named Induo appeared from nowhere.  ‘Peekaboo’, it said with a grin.

The smile was infectious.  Luca forgot his worries and laughed. They exchanged their names and at once, they became friends.  When Induo notice that Luca was very tired, she told him about a bed inside the yellowish building named Train Station.  They both decided to go inside and rest. 

The interior of the station was dark, but they easily found the bed.  It had a glow.

‘It looks like a galaxy,’ Luca said.  He always loved to watch the night sky.

Induo agreed.  When they lay down on the bed, it felt so comfortable that they fell asleep immediately.  Little did they know that the bed was magical.  It grew two blue wings and flew high with magical sparks with two sleeping friends.

When they open their eyes Induo screamed, and Luca couldn't believe that he was among millions of stars and planets.  It was like his dream came true.  The two new friends looked to each other and shouted, ‘Hooray! It's a wish granting magical bed!’

Induo didn't waste time.  She wished to visit Icy Castle of Snow Fairy.  Wow!  It was fast.  The castle was magnificent.  But as they didn't bring any warm clothes, they shivered like a wet cat.  Luca wished for the warmest place on Earth.

The bed flew down and took them to the Sahara Desert.  Ouch!  It was burning hot.  Induo took a shed under Luca and turned it turned into bright yellow.  They could see massive pyramids and a Sphinx far away and Sun setting down behind those.  They both missed family now and wished for their home. 

The bed flew them to the rainforest in no time.  Luca and Induo discovered that they were actual neighbours!  From that day onwards, they became besties forever.  The magical bed flew back to the Train Station for another adventure.
