A Magical Story Jar Christmas Story - Frank The Flamingo and The Naughty and Nice List
As a gesture of thanks for all of your support throughout the year, here’s a little Christmas story written especially for you and your little ones using the story cards from our Christmas Magical Story Jars.
Outside of Mrs Claus’ cosy kitchen, there lived a very chatty flamingo called Frank. He was a garden flamingo and had a very jazzy Christmas hat with a bell on the end. Sometimes, he would chat to Mrs Claus through the open kitchen window where he could smell the sweet hot chocolate she was making and have long conversations about the upcoming Christmas rush. As well as chatting with Mrs Claus, Frank’s favourite thing to do was to stand and watch the breath-taking Christmas rainbow that appeared every year on the 20th of December and stayed until the end of Christmas day. The rainbow was green, white and red and often reminded Frank of the large sparkly candy canes which decorated the porch of Mr and Mrs Claus’ house.
One day, Frank was watching the rainbow in awe when he noticed the sparkle begin to dim and the colour begin to fade until the rainbow was black and grey, rather than green, white and red.
‘Oh my Goodness!’ Mrs Claus exclaimed from her kitchen window.
Frank hopped over towards her.
‘What has happened to the rainbow Mrs Claus?’ He asked.
‘I don’t know! Have you seen my husband?’
Frank shook his head, he had never met Mr Claus, as he was always so busy.
‘I have lost my list!’ A voice shouted from behind Frank, he whipped around and saw an old man with a red coat and a white beard, who looked very upset and panicked.
‘What do you mean you have lost your list?’ Mrs Claus asked her husband.
‘I can’t find it!’
‘Oh no!’
‘Christmas will be ruined for the children for the first time ever if I cannot find this list!’
Frank watched the exchange between Mr and Mrs Claus, feeling the worry come from both of them, before butting in.
‘Erm excuse me Sir? What does your list look like?’ He asked.
‘It is a naughty and nice list. It tells me what all the children want for Christmas and how good they have been throughout the year.’
Frank nodded his head in understanding.
‘I will help you look.’ He said and off he hopped.
Frank and Mr and Mrs Claus searched for what seemed like hours, just as Frank had begun to give up hope he saw a piece of paper floating in the wind and ran after it. He grabbed it with his beak and ran back to the kitchen window.
‘Mr and Mrs Claus! Is this the list?’
Mr Claus ran over and took the list from him, he read the paper and sighed in relief.
‘Yes Frank! This is my list, thank you so much!’ He said with a huge smile on his bearded face.
Mrs Claus came over and gave Frank a warm hug through the open window.
‘Thank you Frank! How can we ever repay you?’
Frank thought hard and then the sweet smell hit him once more.
‘A hot chocolate would be nice?’
Mrs Claus smiled at him and invited him inside. Together, Mr and Mrs Claus and Frank sat and drank the sweet hot chocolate and watched the rainbow sparkle green, white and red once more.
