Magical Story Jars Gets Shortlisted in the Gift of the Year Awards

After years of hard work and determination, it’s safe to say 2022 has got off to a fairy tale start for our small family business after we found out that we’d been shortlisted in the Gift Association’s Gift of The Year awards in the ‘My Gift of All Time’ category. 

The awards are the most highly respected industry accolade, aimed at recognising the best new products, talent and inspiration in the gift industry each year.  We really can’t describe how proud we all feel to have been shortlisted. 

As a family we’re finding that business journeys aren’t always straight forward, but we always share our experiences with our kids because we feel it will help them to learn to enjoy the experience of the rollercoaster ride that life is so often made up of.  After having told them that we had embraced our fears and entered the awards, I’m sure you can imagine how thrilled they were when a few months later, we were able to tell them that we had been shortlisted.  We celebrated with some bubbly (and orange juice for the kids) and a nice family dinner.  The kids also made us a cute handmade card and they decorated the dinner table with streamers and party poppers.  It’s worth being shortlisted just for their cute little celebrations alone! 

So what happens next?  Now the first round of judging is complete, samples of all three Magical Story Jars in the range have been sent off for the second round of live judging which takes place at the Spring Fair home and gift show at the NEC in Birmingham.  In the meantime, we’re keeping everything crossed and we’ll be sure to let you know how we get on in the next week or so.  We’re wishing everyone who was shortlisted lots of luck.  And most importantly, we’re sending thanks to all of you folks for supporting us on our journey.
